I believe that an egg sandwich, so-called tamago sando, is surely getting popularity in South Korea. Of course, every country has its own egg sandwiches. We, Korean people, also have a sort of it. Japanese-styled egg sandwiches, tamago sando, however, have very different textures and tastes from other countries'. That is why people love tamago sando, and I think it has created a new trend of cafe. Today many Korean people like to visit a cafe which sells tamago sandwiches.
Cafe Liaison, located in Dogok, Gangnam. is one of my choices for the menu. It is very close to Dogok Station, Seoul Metro No.3.
Café Liaison runs cooking or baking classes on every Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. If you want to visit there, please avoid those dates. It opens on Wednesday, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for common visitors.
I ordered Tamago Sando, KRW 8,000, and Iced Liaison Coffee, KRW 4,500. They were served on the wooden-tray, and I really loved it. The coffee is Americano, and it tastes good. Americanos in South Korea is less bitter and has less caffeine than France's. The tamago sandwiches tastes a little sweet. Anyhow, the bitter coffee and the sweet sandwich are perfect for each other.
There is one more reason why I recommend you to visit here. The mood. If there are few people, you can feel very cozy atmosphere. Especially, in rainy days, you can see the great view through a big window there and hear calming sound which rain makes.
The food is cute, and the mood is attractive.
If you are looking for an instagram-worthy cafe in Gangnam, Seoul, Cafe Liaison will be the best choice for you.
Very think egg rolls are with two white slices of bread. Frankly speaking, in my opinion, it is not even close to the real-Japanese tamago sando, but it tastes quite good.
Dogok-dong or Dogok-staion itself is not recommendable for sightseeing. Thus, please avoid visiting there if you don't have any interests in instagrammable cafes.
